Suryastra is India’s first indigenously developed, multi-calibre long-range rocket launcher system, designed by Pune-based NIBE Limited in collaboration with Israel’s Elbit Systems.
The system is capable of delivering precision surface-to-surface strikes at ranges of up to 150 km and 300 km, making it the first domestically produced rocket launcher with a 300 km precision strike capability.
During trials, Suryastra demonstrated an accuracy of under five metres circular error probable (CEP) and can also launch loitering munitions to distances of up to 100 km.
A single launcher is designed to fire multiple categories of rockets and guided munitions.
Mounted on a BEML High Mobility Vehicle (HMV), Suryastra offers high mobility and supports rapid deployment with effective shoot-and-scoot operations.
