The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif for alleged war crimes.
Netanyahu and Gallant are accused of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024.
According to the ICC, they intentionally deprived Gaza’s civilian population of essential supplies like food, water, medicine, fuel, and electricity.
The ICC also issued an arrest warrant for Mohammed Deif, Hamas’s military leader, for crimes committed in Israel and Palestine starting on October 7, 2023. The court accuses him of murder, torture, rape, and other acts of violence.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks killed approximately 1,139 people in Israel, and over 200 were taken hostage.
