West Bank is a landlocked territory in West Asia. It also contains a significant section of the western Dead Sea. West Bank is sandwiched between Israel and Jordan
It lies to the west of the Jordan River and is bordered by Israel to the west, north, and south, and by Jordan and the Dead Sea to the east.
From 1920 to 1947, the area was part of the British-mandated territory of Palestine.
After the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the West Bank was occupied and later annexed by Jordan.
Israel captured the West Bank during the 1967 Six-Day War and has occupied it ever since.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the United Nations have ruled that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law.
The Six-Day War was fought in June 1967 between Israel & the Arab states of Egypt, Syria and Jordan.
