BHISHM stands for Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita and Maitri. The platform was developed under India’s “Project Aarogya Maitri” to strengthen humanitarian assistance and disaster relief diplomacy.
Each BHISHM Cube contains compact medical equipment, surgical tools, medicines, diagnostics, and emergency support systems. The modular design enables transportation through air, land, or sea in disaster-hit regions.
The cubes can reportedly support treatment for nearly 200 emergency cases. The system includes portable ventilators, oxygen support, trauma care supplies, and mobile operation facilities for field deployment.
