INTRODUCTION
Indian Armed Forces are the combined military forces of the Republic of India. Indian Armed Forces also known as “Bharatiya Sashastra Bal” is the world's third largest armed forces with an estimated total active forces of 1325000 personnel.
The supreme commander of the Indian armed forces is the President of India. Our country's armed forces have been engaged in a number of major military operations under the management of the Ministry Of Defence (MoD) of the Government of India.
The military budget (or military expenditure) also known as defence budget which comes out from the Union budget of India is used to finance new or ongoing operations in our out of the country. Below is the list of operations categorised into the armed forces of the country:
