  1. The Zanzibar campus of IIT Madras, which is the first offshore campus of any IIT, was inaugurated by President of Zanzibar, Hussein Ali Mwinyi. The Indian Ocean archipelago of Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous province of Tanzania.

  1. India successfully test-fired its surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) 'Pralay'. Developed by DRDO, 'Pralay' is a short-range missile with a range of 350-500 km, with a payload of 500-1,000 kg.


  1. The fifth India-US 2 + 2 Ministerial Dialogue will be held in New Delhi. The first 2+2 dialogue between the two countries was held during the Trump Administration in 2018.


  1. IIT-Bombay has broken into the world's top 150 universities, attaining its highest-ever rank of 147 in the QS World University Rankings 2023 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).


  1. In Asia region, IIT Bombay grabbed 40th position followed by IIT-Delhi at the 46th position & IIT-Madras at the 53rd position. With 148 universities in the ranking list, India also becomes the country in Asia with the highest number of universities being featured.


  1. Russia formally withdrew from the Treaty of Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE). CFE placed limits on the deployment of military equipment to maintain military balance between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the then-Warsaw Pact countries.


  1. New island has now emerged within the vicinity of Japan's Ogasawara island chain, after the eruption of an underwater volcano in late October 2023.
