DRDO successfully tested its first long-range hypersonic missile

India has successfully tested its first long-range hypersonic missile. The test took place on Saturday, November 16, from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Island, located off the coast of Odisha. (Video)

The missile is designed to carry different types of payloads and can travel more than 1,500 kilometers for the Armed Forces. According to the Defence Ministry, the missile was tracked by several systems set up in different locations.

The ministry also stated that the data collected from ships confirmed that the missile's maneuvers and impact were accurate.

This missile was developed by the DRDO’s laboratories in Hyderabad, in collaboration with other DRDO labs and industry partners. The flight trial was observed by senior DRDO scientists and military officers.
