Nagpur-based Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd (SDAL) has successfully conducted trials of its indigenous anti-drone system “Bhargavastra” at the Seaward Firing Range in Gopalpur, Odisha, in the presence of senior Army Air Defence officials. Read: The Latest Defence Current Affairs Notes here
“Bhargavastra” is equipped with hard-kill technology and is capable of launching 64 micro rockets in a single salvo to neutralise drone swarms and jam UAVs.
The system can detect and destroy small or incoming drones at a range of up to 2.5 km.
During the trial, three successful test firings were conducted, with all micro rockets meeting the desired performance parameters.
