This critical test simulated the recovery of the Crew Module, which will return astronauts safely to Earth after their mission.
The trials were conducted aboard a well-deck ship from the Eastern Naval Command. This specialized vessel is designed to flood its deck, enabling the safe retrieval of boats and spacecraft.
Using a mock-up replicating the Crew Module's size and weight, ISRO and Navy teams performed a series of recovery operations.
These included attaching a recovery buoy, towing the module, maneuvering it into the well deck, securing it on a fixture, and draining water from the deck.
The Gaganyaan mission is India's ambitious plan to send astronauts into orbit around Earth for a three-day mission.
