Key Highlights From The 76th Republic Day Parade 2025

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 76th REPUBLIC DAY PARADE 2025


The first Republic Day celebrations were held in 1950 at Irwin Stadium (now Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium) in New Delhi.


For the first time, a tri-services tableau was showcased, symbolizing enhanced synergy among India’s armed forces.


Dimple Singh Bhati, an officer from the Indian Army's Corps of Signals (The Dare Devils), made history as the first woman officer to present a salute to the President.


An all-women marching contingent from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also participated in the parade.


The Republic Day parade showcased 31 tableaux representing 16 states and union territories, along with various central ministries and organizations.

Theme: Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas (Golden India: Heritage and Development).


Uttar Pradesh’s tableau: Showcasing the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.


Madhya Pradesh’s tableau: Focusing on the reintroduction of cheetahs in the state.


Ministry of Earth Sciences’ tableau: Celebrating 150 years of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).


For the first time, cultural performances spanned the entire Kartavya Path, featuring 5,000 folk and tribal artists performing 45 traditional dance forms.


The 11-minute cultural performance, titled “Jayati Jaya Mamah Bharatam”, curated by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, was a tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary.
